Chichén Itzá,  Ek Balam, Cobá

May 28 – June 4, 2011

As with our previous workshops in Palenque and Copán, participants will have direct hands-on learning and training in the art, archaeology and epigraphy of the Maya, led by well-known archaeologist and epigrapher Dr. David Stuart of the University of Texas at Austin. Yucatán is among the largest and most diverse of all ancient maya regions, with a rich history and culture now made accessible through deciphered texts and elaborate monumental art.
We’re looking forward to another fun and educational week in the field. Mornings will be spent on-site or in local museums, exploring the ruins in context and in detail. Lectures and workshops come each afternoon.
Our first Palenque and Copán workshops were hugely successful, and we anticipate more fun and intellectual excitement in Yucatán in June. For more information on our schedule, registration, etc., please see our “About” section and other pages.
